Act 2
March 23
I thought Act II of a Dolls House was better than the first act. Nora had a lot of struggles in this act. She is afraid that Krogstad will tell Helmer about the forged check and everything else. If this does happen there it will suppress the family. Mrs. Linde tries to help Nora. Dr. Rank said that he loved Nora. Nora doesn't know what to think about this. Dr. Rank said "I promised myself that I'd tell you before I went away, and I could never have a better opportunity. Well, Nora, now you know. And you know, too, that you can trust me - more than anyone else." Nora was surprised and capricious by this.
Mrs Linde tries to convince Krogstad to take the letter back at first. Then she said that she wants to get back with him. Krogstad is happy about this and says "When I lost you, it was just as if the very ground had given way under my feet. Look at me now - a shipwrecked man clinging to a spar." Then when Krogstad says he'll take the letter back, Mrs Linde tells him not to anymore. She thinks that Helmer has the right to know about this.

I thought Act 1 of A Dolls House was well written for a play in the 1800's. Nora is an interesting character. She is not helpless and intelligent as Helmer thinks she is. Helmer treats her like a child in a way. He called her a "feather brain". Helmer makes all the money in the family. He is getting an advancement in his job to a bank manager. So they will have more money. Nora is talking about squandering all of it. Mrs. Linde said " Even at school you were a terrible spend thrift." Helmer thinks woman are only good for house jobs. But when Helmer gets sick, Nora was working. She said "Papa never gave us a penny. It was I who raised the money."
Nora borrowed the money from Krogstad. Which she forged her father's signature. So she was working to pay him back. When Krogstad threatens her if she doesn't convince Helmer to keep his job. He will tell Helmer and everyone else about the forged signature. Nora was hysteric. This was a smart move for Krogstad. But if she does convince Helmer then Mrs.Linde won't have a job. SO Nora has to make a decision.

This is my first time doing a blog. So far in English it has been good. My writing has improved and when we do projects they are good most of the time. Henrik Ibsen is the author of "A Dolls House". He was a major play writer in the 19th century. He was born in March 20, 1828. He wrote many successful plays.
He grew up in the small Norwegian coastal town. His father was a successful merchant. So he had money growing up. His first play was Catilina it failed to get popular. A Dolls house is has the most plays. I think the Dolls house is about a girl who is trapped in her house from the title. I think the author may of know someone and wrote the story about her life.
